Astralasia contribute a remix of the excellent recent Kalki's Coming (from the 'High Planes Drifter EP') which, unbelievably, is an improvement on the original, and a
second track titled Whirlpool, taken from the new album
'The Seven Pointed Star'. This track can only be described as fast, and reflects Astralasia's new direction. Other tracks worth a mention are UVX's African Sun, a cheesy (yet excellent!) Whirl-Y-Gig fave, which was played every five minutes at WOMAD '96 in the Whirly
big top (and also features on the Whirl-Y-Gig
Compilation Whirly Waves. A
second helping from UVX is the trancefloor remix of the long
deleted debut single Elevator (from their first album
'Double Helix'). Spiralhead, the latest signing to Magick
Eye only contribute one track to the compilation,Hello, but
It's a good one. Children of Dub also surprised me, with the track
Soma, taken from their debut album 'Chameleon', proving to be
very trancey and flows more easily than their other material that
i've heard.....Another Green World are very ambient, as per usual,
leaving SYT, who have failed to impress me with their recent single
releases, BUT, contribute a reasonable couple of tracks and restored
my faith...a bit! 'Visitation', Magick Eyes' first compilation album
is a must, 100% value for money (it only cost about £8)....

The second in the series (9/97) of the low budget compilation/sampler CD from Magick Eye Records. It's not quite to the high standards as the first compilation, since not many of the tracks are new or exclusive to this CD. Astralasia, for example, have only provided Alien Love Song, which was a recent single release. However, if you've not got the tracks that feature as singles elsewhere then this is a must for the collection.
