Ursula 1000
The mind behind URSULA 1000 is none other than the mild mannered Alex Gimeno. Once the URSULA 1000 guise is switched on. Welcome to the gentleman of boogaloo breakbeats! Originating in New York City, Alex moved to sizzling Miami Beach, where he honed his skills by drumming in pop groups and dj-ing exotica to house and everything in between! Dare we say eclectic? After completing the tracks that later became his debut album, The Now Sound, sunny Miami Beach was just a bit too much...or not enough! Once again, hello New York City! Gotham City welcomed back Alex like he had never even left! The Now Sound album, drenched in its sound collage of lounge, funky breaks, and pastiche-a-delica, was released to critical acclaim! Joining the ranks of the international club-pop/loungecore elite, some have called URSULA 1000 the U.S. ambassador to this tantalizing sound! Ursula 1000 has also been very busy on the remix front adding his magic to tracks by Montifiori Cocktail, Pierre Henry, Bombay The Hardway, Dynamoe, Pop Shopping, and fellow ESL artist Nicola Conte, to name a few. CD: Ursula 1000 - The Now Sound of Ursula 1000[ESL022]
Released 1999 on ESL Music. Very much a sit, sip, and socialize style. Most of these tunes are pleasant background lounge, with a little pep tossed in here and there.

Various: All Systems Are Go Go[ESL030]
Released 2000 on ESL Music. Compiled and mixed from a live session by Ursula 1000. An absolutely fantastic sampling of some truly entertaining breakbeat and bigbeat lounge tunes, featuring great marksman such as Akakage, Skeewiff, Lemon, Hardwire, Trio Electico, Los Chicharrons and more (lest I relay the whole album). No track is a miss and it's all mixed and capped off by Ursula 1000. This is a terrific springboard to other contemporary lounge groups if you're looking for new waters to dip into.
