Trance and Progressive House - Artists N - R
Listed on this page are various trance / progressive house singles and 12"s listed in alphabetical order (indexed by the first letter of the artists name). When I first started writing this site I grouped singles and 12"s together in this fashion as a fast means of cataloging tracks. These pages are now being slowly dissolved, with each individual artist and producer featuring on their own individual page, although this is taking some time to complete. In the mean time use the A - Z link bar below to skip to other pages on these A-Z pages. Please note that a full A-Z list of artists and producers featuring on this site can be found here. |

12": Nautica - Magic Love Thing[ALIEN009]
Released 10/99 on Alien Recordings (Holland). Written and produced by M. Alici and A. Koc.

12": Nipper & Le Sueur - Final Destiny[12LG001]
Released 9/99 on Linear Grooves. Minimal info on this track, apart from that the Doppelganger Mix is a superb resonating trancer that's really bouncy and fun. It's interesting how similar this bouncy resonating riff is to that which features in 'Slapbang' by Stefano Libelle & HH.

12": Norlander - The Prayer[BASH046]
Released 6/00 on Omni Recordings. Written by Josh Powell and Dylan Amlot. Track one produced by Josh Powell and Dylan Amlot. Track 2 produced by Josh Powell. This is one of the best new trance tracks i've heard in a long time. Both tracks boast a wonderful global vibe with a cracking chant flowing throughout, where the Fatwa Mix takes on a slightly deeper and more progressive vibe over the Lucid Mix. This one will be a favourite of mine for some time - an essential purchase.

12": Paradise X - 2 Much[MWS019T / MWS019R]
Released 1989 on WAU! Mr Modo Recordings. Produced and mixed by Brenden Charles Beal. Paradise 10 are Brenden Charles Beal, Lola G & Less Stress (Spencer and Mike). Co-producers Phuture Worls are Johnathan Moore and Thrash. West Coast Mix by Youth. Start & Depart 2 Paradise Mix by Dr. Alex Paterson (The Orb). This is a very rare, late '80s ambient track. I recently saw the second 12" featuring the Orb remix on sale for £40, which made me laugh given that I paid only £1 for it in a second hand shop!

CDS/12": Perfect Phase - Horny Horns[12TIV123/CDTIV123]
Released 1999 on Positiva Records. Written and produced by Mac Zimms and DJ the Freak. I'm not too kean on the commercial/housey sounding Bootleg Horns or the Joe Fandango Remix of Horny Horns, but the Club Mix of Horny Horns is actually quite fun in a party/carnival kind of vibe. After the massive worldwide success of 'Horny Horns', a Top 20 hit last year, The Freak and Mac Zimms have unleashed their latest alias, Those 2, with the infectious "Get Wicked".

CDS: Perfect Phase - Horny Horns[RR 2143-3]
Released 1999 on Roadrunner Records. Written and produced by Mac Zimms and DJ the Freak. Zipper is average and doesn't match up to the title tracks (see above for review of title tracks). Thanks to Brian Harris for this information.

12": Planet Perfecto feat. Grace - Not Over Yet 99[BLU004T]
Released 8/99 on CodeBlue/Warner Music. Written by Davis, Oakenfold, Wyzgowski. Produced and mixed by Paul Oakenfold and Steve Osborne, featuring the voice of Grace. A classic cheesy anthem originally released on Perfecto Records back in 1995 has undergone a makeover with two astounding remixes from Matt Darey and Breeders (S. Noble and R. Blades). Gone is the cheese and the result is two amazing progressive house cuts that have already been played to death whilst on promotion, and no doubt will be overplayed now it has its official release. The CD single also features a mix by Sickboy.

CDS: Planet Perfecto feat. Grace - Not Over Yet '99[BLU004CD1]
Released 1999 on Code Blue. Thanks to Brian Harris for this information.

12": Plastic Angel - Schatten '99 Rmx's[WASH0146]
Plastic Angel deliver a rather short & light, uplifting trancer whilst in stark contrast the X-Frame Rmx is an experimental sounding, dark and raw lengthy remix. However, the better mix is found on the flip where Talla 2XLC serves up a storming, pounding trancer of a remix. A lengthy beat intro eventually gives way to a lovely soothing, echoing melody, from which this track really takes off onto a real journey. For more information on Plastic Angel see their web site.

12": Plastic Angel - Pascale[WASH0186]
Released 12/99 on Wash Records. Written and produced by Michael Bierler and Elef Tsiroudis. Neither track inspires - nothing original here. However, superior remixes were released. More on these soon. For more information on Plastic Angel see their web site.

12": Plastic Angel - Daylight[WASH0226]
Released 11/00 on Wash Records. Written and produced by Elef Tsiroudis & Raul Geisier. Two fantastic new cuts from Plastic Angel that no doubt will be huge one in the hands of the DJs. Thanks to Elef Tsiroudis for the advance copy of this 12". For more information on Plastic Angel see their web site.

7": Praise - Only You[6566117]
Released 1991 on Epic (Sony Music Entertainment). Written and produced by Geoff Macormack and Simon Goldenberg. Executive producer Andros Georgiou. Additional remix and production by Peter Lorimer. A classic haunting ambient track used on the Fiat Tempra TV advert many moons ago, featuring the wonderful vocals of Miriam Stockley (see also Adiemus). Banco-de-Gaia stole the vocals and produced another version of this track titled 'Tempra', although due to copyright problems and lack of clearance of the sample it only ever appeared on his early tape-only album titled 'Medium'. Later it appeared in his live set, although it had to be axed from the following live album, again due to copyright.

12": Profiler - This is Who We Are[ALIEN008]
Released 9/99 on Alien Recordings. Written and produced by M.Alici. This hard house belter comes in the shape of two quality remixes, the slightly harder of the two by Dave Holmes, whose own Samsara plays through in places.
| |||
12": Qattara - The Truth[12TRUTH001]
Released '98 on Positiva. This is the promo 12" of 'The Truth'; other mixes by Tomski and DJ Taucher feature on the full release. The Sunset Mix features vocals from the beautiful Sarah Dwyer (Qattara's new, permanent singer), whilst the Halahitim Mix drops the vocals and goes for the full on trance effect.

12": Qattara - Qattara '99[SFB005]
Released 6/99 on Steel Fish Blue. Written by Alex Whitcombe and Andy Cato. Additional remix by Alex Whitcombe and Mike Marshall.
| |||
12": Qattara - Peace of Mind[SFB002]
Released '99 on Steel Fish Blue. Written by Alex Whitcombe and Mike Marshall.
| |||
12": Ron Hagen & Pascal Minnaaro - Forever[12INF002]
Released 6/99 on Infusion. Written and produced by Ron Hagen & Pascal Minnaaro. The Mea Culpa Remix is a lovely fast paced trancer packed with soothing Spanish guitars and cascading piano melodies. The latter half of the track takes on a slightly harder acidic vibe, although the uplifting theme is not lost and if anything you'd easily be fooled into thinking this was the work of Brain Transeau. The Original Mix pales against the Mea Culpa Remix, whilst 'Dreams of Sirens' treads dangerously near the "cheesy-house" camp.
| |||
12": RR Workshop - Mess With Da Bull[AVANT004]
Released 11/99 on Avantgarde Records. Written and produced by R. Klinkenberg and R. Unger. Additional remix and production on track one by Anthony Pappa and Barry Gilbey. The original version of this hard house/hard edge trancer featured on Sasha and Digweeds 'Expeditions'.
