Released 2004 on Underwater Records. Written by Tim Deluxe and Shahin Badar. Produced by Tim Deluxe. Vocals by Shahin Badar. 'Mundaya' is the third single from 'The Little Ginger Club Kid' album. When I first heard the album it was this track that stood out from the others, not only because of its sheer quality, but also because of its global theme clashing with the predominantly main-stream sound of the rest of the album. The success of this track is primarily due to the Indo-Arabic style vocals from Shahin Badar, who has worked with the likes of AR Rahman, The Prodigy, Jah Wobble and Temple of Sound. Sounding not to dis-similar to the likes of Natacha Atlas, Badar's powerful vocals fuse well with Thomas Dyani's percussion, topped by some excellent guitar work from Fraser Smith. Arabic folk meets western dance - it definitely works!
