| CD Single/12": Ruhe[561524-2]
Released 12/99 on What's Up?!/Polydor Zeitgeist (Germany). Written and produced by Christopher von Deylen & Mirko von Schlieffen. Taken from the album 'Zeitgeist'. This is a superb cd single with every mix hitting the spot. It's a relatively slow paced trance track that's really uplifting, with German spoken vocals and ethnic sounding chants - very beautiful yet slightly haunting. Ayla create a subtle remix that is very similar to the original version, whilst Humate have produced a much harder sounding progressive style track that really reminds me of the Dervish Overdrive remix of Leftfields 'Open Up' - it's defintely got a similar riff behind it. This is sheer quality and no doubt it would be huge over here in the UK if it were released here.
| 12": Ruhe[DATA21T]
Released 2/01 on Data Records (Ministry of Sound). Written and produced by Christopher von Deylen & Mirko von Schlieffen. A further remix of this classic track now features on Data Records. Tom Middleton serves up a minimalistic progressive trance version that complements the deep and progressive Humate Remix on the flip side. Interesting, but nothing ground breaking.
| 12": Ein Schöner Tag[561 916-1]
Released 6/00 on Zeitgeist/Polydor Zeitgeist (Germany). Written and produced by Christopher von Deylen & Mirko von Schlieffen. Schiller return with their follow up single to 'Ruhe', taking the haunting tune from the opera Madam Butterfly and producing an ambient-dance concept track which features all the familiar sounds of 'Ruhe' (even a German spoken sample is used in the same fashion as 'Ruhe', this time though its a female voice). Even in this ambient-dance style the track manages to be powerful, and if you can get past the concept idea of using the tune from Madam Butterfly then you should like this one. Kaycee produces a more upbeat trance remix, which drops the spoken sample and concentrates on the driving rhythm and, towards the middle of the track, the haunting operatic title piece from Madam Butterfly . The use of classical and operatic pieces in modern dance music has been done many times before, such as Aria.
| CDS: Ein Schöner Tag[561 961-2]
Released 6/00 on Zeitgeist/Polydor Zeitgeist (Germany). Written and produced by Christopher von Deylen & Mirko von Schlieffen. The vinyl versions remain the most aurally pleasing of the bunch. Thanks to Brian Harris for this information.
| CD Single: Liebesschmerz[PROMO]
Promo release 1999 on What's Up?!/Polydor Zeitgeist. Written and produced by Christopher von Deylen & Mirko von Schlieffen. Head straight for the Langspiel-Fassung, another quality track from Schiller.
| CDS: Liebesschmerz[563-735-2]
Released 1999 on What's Up?!/Polydor Zeitgeist. Written and produced by Christopher von Deylen & Mirko von Schlieffen. The additional two mixes that are along the same lines as the original with no substantial variation. Thanks to Brian Harris for this information.
| CD Single: Das Glockenspiel[567 865-2]
Released 1998 on What's Up?!/Polydor Zeitgeist. Written and produced by Christopher von Deylen & Mirko von Schlieffen. This is a bit of a lame duck from Schiller, with the Glockenspiel melody sounding a little ameteurish. However, the Free Schiller Mix drops the Glockensiel and replaces it with a simple piano melody which works well.
| CD Single: Das Glockenspiel (The Bell)[BANG0013]
Released 1999 on Bang On! Written and produced by Christopher von Deylen & Mirko von Schlieffen. The additional remixes by Gary D and Mike Scandle are very good and dramatically improve Schillers original efforts. Gary D turns this into an acid 303 trancer, whilst Mike Scandle sticks to the meledolic trance format adding an industrial sounding glockenspiel.
| CD Single: Das Glockenspiel (The Bell)[RAD99043-2]
Released 199? onRadikal Records. Written and produced by Christopher von Deylen & Mirko von Schlieffen. See above for review. Thanks to Brian Harris for this information.
| 12": Das Glockenspiel[DATA9T]
Released 10/2000 on Data (Ministry of Sound). Written and produced by Christopher von Deylen & Mirko von Schlieffen. Humate turn this into a deep and slightly dark trancer - probably work well on more progressive dance floors. The original mix is a slight variation of the X/Tended mix that features on the previous CD singles.
Other Information:Schiller also record with the Trance Allstars.
