Various Artists: Return to the Source
Return to the Source is a club founded by Chris Decker, after a party in Amsterdam on New Years Eve in 1992, which he called Return to the Source. Drawn to London, a regular club night soon evolved, incorporating the spiritual rituals that Chris had experienced from his travelling. Dj's Mark Allen and Tsuyoshi Suzuki became involved and Return to the Source quickly flourished. In 1995, the dream of a club/party all-night dance ritual based not on profit but on spirituality, pagan values and positive energy became reality, as Return to the Source moved to Brixton, where it is growing and blossoming. The Source is our tribal roots, our oneness with humanity.... says Chris Decker. Return to the Source is about every level of the party providing a vehicle for positive energy and bringing back elements of our power that we've lost. There's no gurus, no gods : its the god within. You can laugh at this, you can call it all a load of Goa'n bollocks, but the truth is the Return to the Source is an amazing experience and one hell of a party.

Return to the Source: Deep Trance & Ritual Beats
Two discs worth of glorious trance. The first disc reflects the harder trance played in the main room at RTTS gigs. Banging
psychedelia, the highlights being Prana (Tsuyoshi Suzuki), Mindfield, Hallucinogen and Medicine Drum. A 12" is also available with these tracks on them. The second disc reflects the ambient music played in the chill out room by the likes of DJ Chrisbo. Accompanied by a 73 page booklet about RTTS and the artists and DJ's - my only gripe is the rather naff cardboard case!

Return to the Source: The Chakra Journey
The end of the year is upon us. The closing hours of 1995 and 4500 primed, joyous New Year's Eve revellers witness an ectastic Brixton Academy, as Return to the Source launches its Chakra Journey. A 75 page booklet accompanying this double cd compilation guides you on a journey of that night.....the Sushumna Ritual Dance Company......the 7 Chakra's......the Artists......a night of sheer euphoria that I will never forget. An excellent follow up to the first RTTS compilation. Again, the first disc is the hard trance disc, with some real gems here. I was a bit disappointed with the ambient disc however. Both Azukx and Astralasia, a couple of my favourite bands, produced no more than ambient ramblings .However, the naff cardboard box has been replaced by a gloss cardboard box - a small colourful improvement on the packaging!
