Released 6/02. Written and produced by Howard Davies. 'The Road to Mandelbrot' is audio proof that the analogue sound is far from dead; where squelchy acid riffs aplenty accompany big fat analogue bass lines in the realms of ambient psychedelic dance. It's an original sounding album with intelligence and creativity behind it. I smiled when 'Phobik' ventured into the familiar sweeping audio-scapes akin to Vangelis's 'Bladerunner', although this is the only obvious influence, as Howard's suggested influences of Depeche Mode and Human League aren't so clearly audible. Well worth investigating.
