Track Listing: Enlightenment (11.53) Illumination (10.31)

Released 2000 on Black Hole Recordings. Written and produced by Geert Huinink & Alco Lammers. Originally I only had these tracks on a DJ sampler CD compilation, and its taken a couple of years to track down this extremely rare debut vinyl from Photon Project. 'Enlightenment' is a long (11 minutes) powerful trance anthem with a huge orchestral introduction, breakdown and finale. Its beautifully produced and works wonders on the dance floor, designed to be played from end to end. 'Illumination' follows the same orchestral / uplifting trance formula as 'Enlightenment', although this is far more DJ friendly since it doesn't start and end with the orchestral sections. Played at the right time of night these two tracks have fantastic effects on the dance floor. Not to be missed.

Released 2001 on Black Hole Recordings. Written and produced by Geert Huinink & Alco Lammers. Both cuts are long, deep progressive trancers, with 'The Inside' being the better of the two.

Track Listing: Brainwave Thoughts

Released 2003 on In Trance We Trust (a division of Black Hole Recordings). Written and produced by Geert Huinink & Alco Lammers. It's one hit and one miss on this latest release from the Photon Project. 'Brainwave' unfortunately is a few neurons short of the mark, whilst 'Thoughts' plays along the same lines of the previous release 'The Inside / The Outside', i.e smooth progressive trance. Worth getting for 'Thoughts' alone.

Track Listing: 11th Hour Fly Deep

Released 3/04 on In Trance We Trust (a division of Black Hole Recordings). Written and produced by Geert Huinink & Alco Lammers. Neither 'Fly' or 'Deep' really get off the ground, completly failing to inspire whilst plodding around in average trance territory, whilst '11th Hour' thankfully delivers the goods and hits the mark. Here we have one of Photon's Projects better tracks - a driving trancer with a slightly haunting edge.

12": Dawnseekers - Gothic Dream

Released 4/00 on In Trance We Trust. Written and produced by Geert Huinink and Alco Lammers. This excellent 12" features three uplifting, melodic trancers. All are similar BPM and have the same under lying trance theme, but where they differ is the melody. Gothic Dream is a dramatic, powerful trancer, where the melody is that of an epic filmscore. Pan pipes feature in Twister, adding an Eastern element to the track (and hence the cover art probably, which is of Tibetean prayer flags). Neural Net is my favourite of the three tracks; this is just a plain and simple uplifting slice of trance that will work wonders on the dancefloors. All three tracks here are beautifully produced and make for an essential purchase. Gothic Dream and Neural Net now feature on the Platipus label.

12": Twenty Something - Morphing Mirror / Mayflower

Released 2002 on In Trance We Trust. Written and produced by Geert Huinink and Alco Lammers. This is a fantastic release with three excellent cuts, proving that Geert Huinink and Alco Lammers can consistently produce quality, uplifting trance whilst also being varied and original. 'Morphing Mirror' is an excellent driving and deep trancer, more in vein with their 'Inside / Outside' release as the Photon Project, whilst on the flipside there are two versions of the uplifting trance anthem 'Mayflower'. Personally I prefer the Greek Power Mix, although both versions are excellent, only differing subtly in arrangement. Essential.
