POB
From the initiating and ground breaking "Essence" to the legendary "Strata" POB (Paul Brogden) has been one of the sharpest and most underrated acts to cut the UK progressive house/trance scene. Paul has remixed tracks for Sasha, D:Ream, and more recently Slacker. He also works with Claudio Guissani (of Union Jack and Terra Ferma fame) under the guise of Granny. taken from the

Single: The Awakening[PLAT 31CD]
This is a great new track from Paul Brogden, which in its original Seismix format sounds characteristically Platipus. Sublime vocals from X-Avia flow over bouncy electronica with the usual dish of build-ups and break downs. Quietman speeds things up a little with a respectable remix, retaining all the key elements of the original. The Flash Bang remix, by Andrew Chatterly (which is annoyingly absent on the 12" and only features on the CD - why??) is a more of a pianoy number with added bounce and sirens - great stuff. Overall, a fab release and a must for your record collection.

12": The Beast/Boiler[SMC 009]
A late '97 outing on vinyl from Paul Brogden on the Seismic record label. Boiler is a fairly average slab of trance, whilst on the flip side The Beast is a fab animal packed trancer.

12": Boiler Remix[PLAT39]
Released 1998 on Platipus Records. Humate remix Boiler, which was first released on Seismic Records in '97, and then re-released the single on Platipus (7/98). It's a weak remix, very drum n bassy, and all in all pretty naff. If you already own the previous vinyl outing of the original Seismic release then this really isn't worth a second purchase.
