Orion / Darren Tate

12": Orion - New World EP[PWRT10]
Released 4/00 on Perfect World Records. Written and produced by Darren Tate. Both 'Dream of Me' and 'Rush' are powerful, melodic trancers, following the usual hands-in-the-air formula.

12": Eternity[CENT11TDJA / CENT11T / CENT11CDS]
Released 10/2000 on Incentive. Written and produced by Darren Tate. I've only got the promo of this track, although the track listing for the CD and official 12" release suggest that the Darren Tate Mix is reduced to just an edit. This is interesting since this mix is an absolute belter of an uplifting trance anthem and an essential tune to your collection. The Gizeh Remix follows the same lines as the Darren Tate Mix, although not quite in the same proportions. The Original Acoustic Mix is a downbeat chillout tune based around the melody of the main mixes. Not to be missed.

12": Orion vs Ayla - Eternity[KONTOR131]
Released 8/01 on Kontor Records. Written and produced by Darren Tate. Vocals by Sarah-J. Additional remix and production on track 1 by DJ Tandu and on track 3 by Gizeh. When it isn't broken there is certainly no reason that one can give for attempting to fix it, as in the case of Ayla attempting to remix 'Eternity'. In all fairness its a good remix, but given that Darren Tates original version is a work of art, i'd say that it was best left alone.

12": Darren Tate vs Mike Koglin - Now is the Time[AGR009-6]
Released 2/03 on Afterglow Records. Written and produced by Darren Tate and Mike Koglin. Two superb cuts of the blinding new tune from Koglin and Tate, with the Original Club Mix being the tougher and more anthemic of the two, whilst Plastic Angel opts for the lighter and more progressive approach.

12": Darren Tate - Prayer for a God [Gracelands Episode 2][MND004]
Released 2003 on Mondo Records. Written and produced by Darren Tate. Two scorching slices of powerful, uplifting and driving trance on offer here, with both tracks possessing a hint of 90's psychedelic trance production style, which is a definite positive and helps this vinyl stand out from the masses of bland uplifting trance that is currently doing the rounds. 'Elevation' is the obvious mid-set uplifting anthem, whilst 'Prayer for a God' is the harder 303-laden, end of set monster. Essential.
