Nation Records

Founded in 1988 by Katherine Canoville & Aki Nawaz, Nation Records is more than just a global-fusion label, and is best described by Aki himself as a "global chaotic, anarchic label which loves music" (Aki Nawaz August 2000). Aki is the front man of Fun'Da'Mental, a "no nonsense, non compromising, politically motivated band" that is core to the heart of Nation Records. Since its early releases in the late 80's, Nation has been home to names such as Asian Dub Foundation, Transglobal Underground, Recycler, Swami, Loop Guru, Natacha Atlas and Prophets Of Da City.

Nation Records - The Story So Far', a title which reflects the labels atitude towards producing ground breaking music and its contempt towards chart music. This is a fantastic compilation, featuring many of Nations greatest moments from over that last decade.

Following the 'Global Warming' and Global Chilling mix CDs, those lovely folk down at Nation have enlisted the help of Tony Thorpe to compile what they consider to be some of their finest remixed moments. Thorpe is no stranger to the vaults of Nation Records having remixed countless of their tracks, plus his production credits are impressive, working with the likes of The KLF and Public Enemy as well as his own acts, The Moody Boyz and Wayward Soul.
