The Moody Boys
The Moody Boys was a project of Jimmy Cauty and Tony Thorpe in the early '90s. They did a few remixes on several KLF 12"s, but after the KLF split-up in '92 Thorpe went on by himself producing the CD album "Product of the Environment".

12": Acid Rappin' feat. Rhyme & Reason[CBE1230]
Released 1988 on Beggars Banquet. Tracks 1 & 2 written by The Moody Boys and Rhyme & Reason. Track 3 written by The Moody Boys. Produced by The House Addicts. This is a nice 12", especially the remixed version. Since it was recorded in '88 it's very acid like, plus if you crank up the speed it actually sounds like a techno track :) Thanks to Maarten Bouwes for this information.

12": Recycled EP[GREP006]
Released 1994 on Guerilla Records. One of the strongest releases by the Moody Boys on Guerrilla Records ('94). The Spirit of Freedom Version of Destination Africa is an excellent Whirly fave, which also features on the album "Product of the Environment", also released on Guerrilla Records [GRCD013 / GRLP013].

CDS: Moody Boyz - Recycled EP[GREP 006 CD]
Released 1994 on Guerilla Records. The Mellow Spirit Version is a CD-only track which is extremely ambient. Thanks to Brian Harris for this information.

12": Centre of the World[EVOLX 15DJ1]
Released 1992 on Love/Polydor Records. This is a fabulous 12" promo of the 12"/cd single from the Moody Boys. The Nubian Club mix of the title track is a real summer/good vibes track that's a golden oldie at Whirl-Y-Gig. I think Andrew Weatherall (Saberettes) had something to do with the remix.

12": Centre of the World[EVOLX 15]
A second 12", also released in '92 on Love/Polydor, features a further remix of 'Centre of the World'. However, The Potless Mix is no match for the Nubian Club Mix.

12": The Moody Boys Introduce Screamer - What is Dub?[EVOL 3 / EVOLX 3]
1991 release on Love Records.

12": The Moody Boys Introduce Screamer - What is Dub?[EVOLR3]
Released 1991 on Love Records. Written and produced by Thorpe & Peddle. Additional remix and production on tracks 1 & 2 by Apollo 440 and on track 3 by The KLF. These remixes, especially the KLF remixes, are weird. It's dub indeed and I like it. Apollo 440 is more uptempo and the KLF is a total remake. Thanks to Maarten Bouwes for this information.
