CD Single / 12": Mike Koglin - The Silence[CDMULTY44]
Released 1998 on Multiply Records. Tracks 1 & 2 written by Martin Gore and Mike Koglin. Track 3 written by Mike Koglin. Produced by Mike Koglin. Vocals by Jacqui Sawyer. 'The Silence' is a pretty average trancer based around the Depeche Mode track titled 'Enjoy The Silence' (I may be wrong - it's many years since I listened to Depeche Mode!). But it's the bonus track 'Experience' that makes this single an essential purchase. Deep voiced spoken samples add to a pounding, powerful uplifting trancer that builds throughout.

12": System Lush! - Goin' On[RPR013]
Released 9/99 on Red Parrot Records. Written by Mike Koglin, John Cecchini & Colin Hamilton. This track was stimulated by the famous Northern Irish club 'Lush!'. It's a collaboration between Lush! promoter & DJ, Colin Hamilton, regular Lush! DJ John Cecchini together with producer Mike (Silence) Koglin. Both mixes are excellent.

12": Darren Tate vs Mike Koglin - Now is the Time[AGR009-6]
Released 2/03 on Afterglow Records. Written and produced by Darren Tate and Mike Koglin. Two superb cuts of the blinding new tune from Koglin and Tate, with the Original Club Mix being the tougher and more anthemic of the two, whilst Plastic Angel opts for the lighter and more progressive approach.

12": Mike Koglin vs Energy-Dai - Loaded[NOYS001]
Released 2003 on NOYS Music. Written and produced by Mike Koglin and Energy Dai. If you like them hard and tough then get a load of 'Loaded', the first release on Koglin's own NOYS label. The two mixes are only subtly different in structure, with the Dub Mix dropping most of the spoken samples that feature in the Main Mix. Sample spotters will instantly spot the dialogue from the 1966 Peter Fonda film 'The Wild Angels', used more recently in Primal Screams 'Loaded' back in the mid 90's. For those with hazy memories, the dialogue goes something like "Just what is it that you want to do? We wanna be free. We wanna be free to do what we wanna do. And we wanna get loaded. And we wanna have a good time." More importantly and back to the tune in question; Koglin has delivered a healthy number for his first release on this new label which will no doubt be canned to death on harder trance floors.

12": Argonauts - Frühlingstag[FILLER002]
Released 2004 on Floorfillers. Written and produced by Mike Koglin & Dave Ralph. For those whose German is not up to scratch, Frühlingstag translates as "spring day". This vinyl bore a bit of a surprise when I started adding the details to this site. The rather inconspicuous text around the circumference of the label (which normally only lists the standard legal stuff) revealed that the Argonauts were none other than Mike Koglin. Still, i'd already selected this tune as one of my current favourites, so that fact was just the icing on the cake. However, a little further digging around on the web and I notice that this tune was first released in 1999 on Kinetic Records (Original Mix & Dub Mix) - so this vinyl on Swansea based Floorfillers is a re-release with an additional remix thrown in. I should audition for the Scooby gang. Back to the music....The Original Mix stands out as the better of the two mixes on offer - its a belter of a track with an infectious melody and killer riffs. On the flip the Marcos Remix is a little too light for my liking, with too much emphasis on the melody... just stick with the original and you'll do no wrong.
