Lange
Lange originally from Shrewsbury, UK has been producing and remixing dance music professionally since signing to Additive records in October 1997. After his first release 'The Root of Unhappiness'/'Obsession', he began his remixing career which has gained him massive acclaim.
Lange's first major success came in the form of DJ Sakin's 'Protect Your Mind', which Lange remixed into a huge club track that reached No.4 in the UK sales Chart. Other remix credits include Lost Witness 'Happiness happening' (No.18 UK), Eye To Eye 'Just Can't Get Enough', and tracks by Sash, The Pet Shop Boys, Faithless, Agnelli & Nelson, and Ruff Driverz.
Lange's own solo career has continued to build with the release of the club anthem 'I Believe' in 1999 and the Positiva release 'Follow Me', which was heavily featured in the Harry Enfield & Kathy Burke film 'Kevin & Perry Go Large'. The latest Lange single (featuring Vocalist 'Skye') 'Drifting Away' was released on VC Recordings in Jan 2002 and entered the UK Sales Charts at NO.9. Lange, together with Skye peformed the single on Top Of the Pops and the Pepsi chart Show.
Other projects include SuReal 'You Take My Breath Away' which reached No. 15 in the UK sales Chart in September 2000, and the compilation 'Tranceformer 2000' which Lange DJ-mixed together with Mauro Picotto.
Lange’s DJ schedule now encompasses some of the UK’s biggest clubs and in 2002 he has secured a monthly residency at Passion and a Scottish exclusive playing for Glam. His regular commitments include The Escape (Swansea), Slinky and Exilaration, in addition to taking his sounds all over the World.

Released '98 on Additive Records. Written and produced by Lange. 'The Root of Unhappiness' is a driving hard trancer that aptly combines uplifting pianoy breakdowns more associated with the wave of melodic Euro-trance currently flowing from Holland, Belgium and Germany. On the flip 'Obsession' is hard-house/hard-trance hybrid (also featuring a rather dodgy "orgasm" sample). Its mid-track that this track steps up a gear and takes on some form of originality, making good use of a powerful melody played out by a full orchestra.

Released 6/00 on Positiva Records. Tracks 1-5 written by Lange, Cecily Fay & Jon Crosse. Vocals by Cecily Fay. Produced by Lange. Track 6 written by Lange and Sarah Dwyer. Produced by Lange. I'm not sure how Positiva, a UK based label, have managed to bend the rules and deliver 5 full length mixes on one CD single; this is exactly how singles should be, rather than the pathetic limits of two mixes plus a radio edit that the CIN (Chart Information Network) enforces on UK releases. Anyway, this new single from Lange is a quality vocal based trance number with a potential commercial crossover due to its vocal content. Good remixes from all quarters, especially DJ JamX & De Leon who toughen up the beats and deliver a more meaty version of this track with a much less vocal content. The bonus here is 'I Believe', which is Langes big vocal based trancer from 1999, released on Additive Records (Positiva's daughter label). An all round good single, although if you're scared of vocals you'd best avoid.

Released 2001 on Virgin Records. Written by Lange / Kirsch / Mane. Produced by Lange. Additional remix and production on track 3 by Pierre Hiver and M. Hammer. The radio edit is heavy on vocals and hence is very commercial sounding. However, its Lange's Sunset Dub that does the business on this release, dubbing most of the vocal and managing to sound very much like some of Chicanes early releases. The Hiver & Hammer Remix toughens up the beats, revamping this into a serious dance track, although keeping the vocal. Two excellent mixes that will work well on very different dance floors.

Released 10/03 on A State of Trance, a division of Armada Music (Holland). Written and produced by Lange. Additional remix and production on track 2 by Andy Perring. 'Sincere' is a powerful driving, instrumental trancer from Lange, available here in the form of two similar mixes, both of which follow the same format and structure. The Pulser Mix is slightly tougher than the Lange Mix and in my opinion is the better of the two. This one flies - essential.

Released 4/04 on Lange Recordings. Written and produced by Lange. 'Kilimanjaro' is Lange's second release under his Firewall guise. The Original Mix follows the uplifting & melodic instrumental trance anthem formula set out by his previous release 'Sincere', hitting all the right buttons in the process, whilst his own Lange Mix is a deeper, percussion based version with a tougher vibe. Another superb release from Lange.
