Karunesh
Following a near fatal motorcycle accident Bruno Reuter turned to Spiritualism. It was in a commune in India, under the guidance of master Osho, that Reuter met musicians from many different cultures. The result was Karunesh (translating as 'Compassion' in Sanskrit).

Released 11/00 on Etherean Music. Written and produced by Bruno Reuter. 'Global Spirit' fuses New Age music with ambient electronica, much in the same way as pioneers Deep Forest bridged these genres back in the early '90s. Brimming with warm Ethnic vocals, practically every other track hits the mark making it difficult to pick out highlights, although the opening 'Call in the Tribes' and the sublime 'Punjab' are already regular tracks on my playlists, if that's anything to go by! My only criticism of 'Global Spirit' is that I found it a little bit too synthetic in places, possibly a result of over using keyboards rather than utilising live instrumentation. But brushing that comment aside, this album is rich in creativity and a joy to listen to.
Note that this album was also released in 2001 under the title of 'Global Spirit' by 'Global Spirit'.

Released 11/02 on Stoned Asia Music. Written and produced by Bruno Reuter. Addtional remix and production on tracks 2 & 4 by DJ Pathaan & Gaudi and on track 3 by Chiller Twist. Original version of 'Punjab' features on the album 'Global Spirit'. DJ Pathaan & Gaudi offer their chilled breakbeat interpretation of 'Punjab' in the form of the Orchestral World Groove Mix, but its the more upbeat, global-dance Chiller Twist Mix that stands out as the better of the new remixes. Many thanks to DJ Pathaan for the promo copy of this vinyl.
