Gaudi

12": Gaudi - Sufani[ABR034]
Released 02/04 on Absolutely Records (Italy). Written and produced by Gaudi. Additional remix and production on track 1 by Phunk Investigation and on track 2 by Pyramid. These remixes of Gaudi's original down-tempo ethnic chillout track elevate this tune into a global trance monster. The deep and hypnotic Pyramid Intramix is the better of the two remixes on offer, combining pounding trance beats with haunting flutes and Indian style vocal samples. The Phunkinvestigation Mastica Dub retains all the key samples and elements, whilst opting for a much lighter percussive based approach. Essential.

CD: Gaudi - Bass, Sweat & Tears[ICHILLCD018]
Released 2004 on Interchill Records. Written and produced by Gaudi. 'Bass, Sweat & Tears' (Gaudi's 5th album to date) is a strong contester for best global / electronica fusion album of 2004. Its very seldom that I find such an album as this, which is as diverse as it is inspired and exciting, inviting the listener to a global journey through a mirage of native cultures, from the likes of the Middle East to India, the rain forests of the Amazon to Andalusian folk and African French rap; it truly shows that Gaudi has worked with a total of 42 musicians from all over the world to produce this album. Essential.

CD: CONTINVVM : Gaudi - Testa 1105[ITEM0007]
Released 10/05 on Em:t Records. Created as the antithesis of ‘musical journey’, Continuum is mental and imaginary spaces in sound; created by London based artist and producer Gaudi with Sound-Therapist Antonio Testa. The organic sounds and colours of Antonio’s ethnic, recycled and homemade instruments and percussion, exist alongside and within Gaudi’s electronic creations and manipulations forming atmospheres in which the mind is left free to create. Continuum is an auditory stimulation, a gateway to a self-determined co-ordinate in space time.

CD: Pete Namlook & Gaudi - Re:sonate[PW49]
Released 1/06 on Fax Records. Gaudi has joined forces with one of the legends of ambient music, Pete Namlook, to create their first collaborative project 'Re:sonate'. Pete Namlook has redefined the word prolific, with over 200 album releases, and is one of the few ambient producers to truly master the art of the single track album. Re:sonate is an elegant work. A dubby melding of analogue synths, rippling percussion, skilled programming and immaculate production spanning an hour in 3 tracks! It combines Pete's 'trademark' lengthy meandering structures and spacey pads with Gaudi's dub vibes and unique 'home-grown' sounds, producing an end result that is both very Namlook and definitely Gaudi at the same time. It retains the individual flavours of each artist yet still manages to emerge as something distinctly different from either of their solo work.
