Dr Kucho
| 12": Africanism produced by Dr Kucho - Tanzania[YP163]
Released 2003 on Yellow Productions. Written and produced by Dr Kucho. Additional remix and production on track 2 by Bob Sinclar. Dr. Kucho (aka Spanish DJ and producer Daniel Manzano Salazar) has had 'Tanzania' signed to Bob Sinclars Africanism / Yellow Productions label. Keeping in line with Africanism's afro-beat sound, this 4/4 tribal-house crossover fuses didge with djembe and a catchy tribal chorus. Dr Kucho's Main Mix is the obvious version to go for, but if you're after a more tribal affair then flip over to Bob Sinclars Primitive Mix which has more emphasis on the percussion, dropping the didge and adding more crazy African vocal samples in the process. A very strong release for the Africanism collective.

12": Dr Kucho - Tribal Adventure[DD-003] | |||||
Released 4/04 on Disc
Doctor. Written by Daniel Manzano and produced by Dr Kucho. 'Tribal Adventure' does
exactly what it says on the packet, i.e. its a tribal track, which starts off minimalist
and gradually builds with additional layers of percussion joining the jam. A funky bass
guitar lick completes the line-up, before breaking into an orchestral string breakdown,
through which a darabuk gently clatters away. The darabuk gradually builds and leads into
the finale, over which the melancholic strings playout. On the flip 'Electric Woman' is a
bouncy 4/4 number based around a female spoken sample and a male vocoder sample of the
words "Electric Woman". Overall two excellent tracks.
