Digital Bled
Digital Bled is an unlikely fusion of North African, Central European and Indian influenced electronica, comprising of Parisian front man DJ Pedro (real name Joao Pedro Veloso Rodrigues, originally from Portugal) and members of the Orchestre Nationale de Barbès. Arabian melodies deep from the Middle East sit side by side with the Brazilian sax of Glaucus Linx (who plays with Salif Keita), hip hop beats, dub and global rhythms. Digital Bled appeared live on the Whirl-Y-Gig stage at the Reading WOMAD festival 2001.

Album: Digital Bled - Caravana[SAN4964652] | |||
Released June 2000 on Sony Music Entertainment (France). 'Caravana' is the debut release from Digital Bled, a laid back affair packed full of authentic middle Eastern melodies and rhythms. It does have its upbeat moments though with, for example, 'Batuquente' standing out as an irresistable jig inducing number, as proved popular as their choice of closing tune in their live performance at WOMAD 2001.
