CDS: Blue Amazon - The Singles[SM-9063-ADV]
Promo released 1997 on Sm:)e Communications. A rare chance to pick up the unmixed version of 'The Runner', plus 'No
Other Love' isn't too shabby as a bonus. Thanks to Brian Harris for this information.

12": Blue Amazon - Four Seasons / The Runner[Win001]
The first release on Jackpot Records. Written and produced by Softley and Reid. Two superb tracks, the better of which is definitely 'The Runner', which is an ahead-of-its-time wicked progressive trancer. God only knows why neither of these tracks were included on the debut album, since they out-do any of the tracks that feature on it.

CD: Blue Amazon - The Javelin[BALP1A / BALP1C / BALP1E]
The debut album from Blue Amazon released 10/97 on Jackpot Records on CD and as a rather expensive limited edition triple vinyl. Tracks 2,3,4,5 and 7 feature the vocals of Vicky Webb, whilst Danny Campbell backs on tracks 3 and Glynn Poole backs on tracks 5 and 6 with Jay Welsh. Noticeably all of the tracks, with the exception of the very ambient 'Paradise Regime', are over the ten minute mark, which seems to be a trademark of Blue Amazon. However, this becomes a bit of a problem, since the tracks seem to take bloody ages to get going. So rather than each individual track striding off into realms of epic progressive house music, the end product is rather dreary and tiring. Don't get me wrong - all of the ingredients of there for some superb tracks, but unfortunately they're in the wrong proportions. Hence the album is too long winded for home-listening and most of the tracks unworkable for the dancefloor. Overall a disappointing album, especially when considering Blue Amazon's excellent reputation as remixers and the couple of superb 12"s that they released prior to this album.
