Beam & Yanou / Beam vs Cyrus & The Joker

CD Single: Beam & Yanou - On Y Va Pt.2[724388472609]
Released 1997 on EMI Electrola GmbH. Written and produced by Michael Urgacz & Yann Peifer. Tracks 1 & 5 remixed by Michael Urgacz & Yann Peifer, tracks 2 & 7 by Michael Urgacz & Tobias Beckhoff, track 3 by Michael Nehring & Michael Gross, track 4 by Tokapi and track 6 by Da Bomb. CD features multimedia. This is one of those border line tracks which hangs dangerously close to the dairy. However, the DJ Beam Mix is the one that stands out and, if played at the right time in a set, will go down a storm - uplifting trance, if not slightly cheesey.

12": Beam & Yanou - The Free Fall[BEAM-TRAXX004]
Released 01/01 on Beam-Traxx as a VIP pressing. Written and produced by Michael Urgacz & Yann Peifer. A big change in style for Beam and Yanou as the delve into the realms of uplifting vocal trance. 'The Opus' is a rather lengthy epic hands in the air job that goes a little OTT with the vocals for my personal liking, but will go down well with those who prefer vocal based dance music. 'The Exposition' however is far less vocal based and is the track that i'd definitely play as a mid-set feel-good tune.

CD Single: Beam vs Cyrus & The Joker - Launch in Progress - Phase II[7243 88742528]
Released 1999 on Emi Music GmBH. Written and produced by Guido Gronwald, Cyrus Sadeghi-Wafe & Michael Urgacz. Track 2 remixed by DJ JamX & De Leon. Track 3 remixed by Cosmic Gate. Whilst the original version of Launch in Progress is pretty good, the Dumonde Remix takes it that necessary step further. Over the usual pounding trance beats of Dumonde a rather unusual shrill top line bounces along, complete with female electronic spoken vocals in the breakdown stating "warning, self distruct is armed, self distruct will occur in the next turn.....Launch in progress". Cosmic Gate adopt a lighter beat and drop the spoken vocal in the breakdown - although like the Dumonde remix, it doesn't stray far from the formulae set out by the original version. Quality trance.
