Africanism
Africanism is a collective of artists and producers headed by Yellow Productions label owner Bob Sinclar and DJ Gregory. The French duo have used the label to pioneer their love of Afro beats and tribal house, fusing in Lounge, Funk and Soul elements along the way. Their Africanism compilations condense the labels vinyl releases as a continuous mix of afro flavours on CD, whilst for DJs there are unmixed limited edition vinyl boxsets.

12": Africanism - Viel Ou La[YP116]
Released 04/02 on Yellow Productions as 2 x 12". Tracks 1 -3 written by G.Henderson & Williams. Track 4 written by Bob Sinclar. All tracks produced by Bob Sinclar.
'Viel Ou La' is another stormer from the Parisian producer Bob Sinclar, whipping up a cheeky carnival frenzy tinged with Caribbean vibe. Both the Classic Mix and Club Mix are the ones to head for, differing only very slightly in structure, whilst the dub mix strips all the French lyrics and chants leaving pure percussion. Essential.

12": Africanism produced by Dr Kucho - Tanzania[YP163]
Released 2003 on Yellow Productions. Written and produced by Dr Kucho. Additional remix and production on track 2 by Bob Sinclar. Dr. Kucho (aka Spanish DJ and producer Daniel Manzano Salazar) has had 'Tanzania' signed to Bob Sinclars Yellow Productions label. Keeping in line with Africanism's afro-beat sound, this 4/4 tribal-house crossover fuses didge with djembe and a catchy tribal chorus. Dr Kucho's Main Mix is the obvious version to go for, but if you're after a more tribal affair then flip over to Bob Sinclars Primitive Mix which has more emphasis on the percussion, dropping the didge and adding more crazy African vocal samples in the process. A very strong release for the Africanism collective.
